Talk Director & Speaker Coach
You have a talk to give. Now what?
Accepted, and blank
Your proposal got accepted. The date is set, the room is booked, and all you have is a title and a vague feeling of dread.
Too much to say
You know your topic inside out. That’s the problem. Everything feels important, and your outline looks like a table of contents.
It’s all there, but flat
The content is solid, the slides are done. Yet when you rehearse, it drags. Nobody would remember it the next morning.
A bigger stage
A keynote, a first international conference, a talk in front of your whole company. The stakes are higher, and so is the pressure.
A talk is one idea, carried by a story, delivered by a person.
What a talk director does
Like a theater director, I help you shape your talk, and help you become the person who delivers it. The words and the stage stay yours.
The idea. We find the one thing your audience should leave with, and keep what serves it.
The story. We build the arc: where it opens, where it turns, where it lands. Examples, demos and anecdotes go where they do the most work.
The slides. They support you instead of competing with you. Less text, clearer visuals, your eyes on the audience.
The delivery. We rehearse out loud, standing up. Voice, pace, pauses, where to look, what to do with your hands, and how to handle the unexpected.
Why me?
I’ve been on both sides of the stage: as a speaker, and as an organiser of conferences, where a good talk and a great one are never far apart.
I also perform improv theater. It taught me presence, listening to the room, and staying calm when plans change.
And after years of UX work, I think about a talk the way I think about any design: who it’s for, what they need, and how to get them there.
How it works
We start with a call about your talk, your audience and your deadline.
Then we work in a few sessions, in person in Lausanne or online: first on the idea and the structure, then on the slides, then on rehearsals. The closer to the date, the more we rehearse.
Just before the big day, we do a full run-through, as close to the real conditions as possible.
Let’s talk
